October 5, 2024: National Symposium of Belgian Reference Centers for Cerebral Palsy
On October 5, 2024, the Brussels University Hospital (H.U.B) will host a major academic symposium on cerebral palsy in Brussels
On October 5, 2024, the Hôpital Universitaire de Bruxelles (HUB) will host a pivotal academic event for specialists in cerebral palsy. Held on the campus of the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) in Anderlecht, this symposium, titled "Hot Topics in Cerebral Palsy: Let's Talk About It!", will bring together experts from the Belgian Cerebral Palsy Reference Centers (BeCPR) for a day of academic discussions and interactive workshops.
A Day Dedicated to Scientific and Clinical Advances
This symposium will serve as a crucial platform for healthcare professionals, researchers, and clinicians to exchange ideas on the latest advancements in the treatment of cerebral palsy. It will also provide an opportunity to analyze current challenges and explore future perspectives to enhance patient care.
The day's discussions will cover a range of topics, including migration-related challenges, palliative care, technological innovations in rehabilitation, pain management, and the transition to adulthood.
Cerebral Palsy: A Complex Condition
Cerebral Palsy (CP) encompasses a group of permanent movement and posture disorders. These disorders are caused by non-progressive lesions that occur in the developing brain of a fetus or infant. In Belgium, as elsewhere, managing this condition requires a multidisciplinary approach to address the diverse needs of patients and their families.
The day will conclude with a forum for parent associations, providing a space to share experiences and challenges faced by families, and to explore strategies to strengthen their involvement in rehabilitation programs.
