Our specialities

At the Children's Hospital, we understand that the prospect of a blood draw can be a source of anxiety, especially for our young patients. That’s why we have created a blood draw service specifically designed to make this experience as gentle and reassuring as possible.

Specialized and Caring Nurses

Our nurses are experts in pediatrics, trained to work with children and their families. They welcome each child with warmth and compassion, creating an environment where they feel safe and comfortable.

Fantastic Worlds for a Better Experience

Each blood draw room is a world of its own, designed to transport children to fantastic universes. Whether it’s under the sea, surrounded by jellyfish, on a distant planet, or under a bright rainbow, our young patients are invited to escape into their imagination during the procedure.

A Simple Explanation of the Procedure

A blood draw involves taking a small amount of blood for medical tests. This is done by our healthcare professionals using a fine needle and tubes to collect the blood.

A Prepared and Comfortable Process

Before the blood draw, we take the time to ensure that each child feels at ease. We can apply an anesthetic cream or patch (only on your doctor's prescription) to numb the skin and reduce discomfort. During the procedure, our young patients can choose to watch or look away, depending on their preference.

After the Blood Draw

Once the blood draw is completed, we carefully remove the needle and apply a bandage to the puncture site. Our nurses are there to reassure and support each child through every step of the process.
