Cardiology (Pediatric)
Our role
The Cardiology Department at the Children's Hospital is a center of excellence dedicated to the comprehensive management of heart conditions in young patients. A range of advanced techniques is implemented to diagnose and treat cardiac conditions in young patients. With a constant focus on excellence and innovation, our medical team provides specialized services such as diagnostic and interventional catheterization, transthoracic and transesophageal Doppler echocardiography, cycloergometry, stress scintigraphy, cardiac MRI, as well as ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.
Our specialities
We would like to emphasize the importance of teamwork within our department. This collaborative approach allows us to share essential experiences and knowledge to ensure the best possible care.
Our pediatric cardiologists are the cornerstone of your medical care. They establish the diagnosis of heart problems through a variety of tests, such as ultrasounds and diagnostic catheterizations. They can also prescribe other tests, such as blood tests, X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs, performed in other hospital departments. In some cases, they may perform interventional catheterization procedures to treat your child's heart issues.
If surgical intervention is necessary for your child, you will meet our team of cardiac surgeons. They will be responsible for your child's operation, working closely with our anesthesiologists.
Our outpatient nurses will warmly welcome you during follow-up visits. They work closely with our pediatric cardiologists to perform electrocardiograms, Holter monitoring, and vital sign monitoring. Additionally, they schedule consultation appointments for you.
Our psychologists are here to support your child and your family. Besides providing a listening ear, they can help prepare your child for potential stressful interventions or exams, arrange preliminary visits to the hospital facilities where your child will be admitted, and provide support for siblings.
The social worker is available to assist you with various administrative procedures, such as birth registrations, enhanced family allowances, and sick child leave.
Lastly, our administrative coordinator is responsible for scheduling exams and interventions. She ensures that everything runs smoothly for our patients.
We are committed to providing each patient and their family with quality care and comprehensive support throughout their cardiac treatment journey.
