A Michelin-Starred Culinary Encounter at the Queen Fabiola Children's University Hospital
Michelin-starred Chef Sang Hoon Degeimbre joined young patients for a very special cooking workshop at the Queen Fabiola Children's University Hospital (HUDERF).

The unique and heartfelt project, "L’Atelier des Petits Chefs", came to life for the first time thanks to the two-star chef of L’Air du Temps. Chef Degeimbre shared his passion and culinary artistry with hospitalized children in a moment of joy, discovery, and creativity.
Held right in the hospital’s kitchen, the workshop brought together 10 children aged 5 to 15, who had the chance to explore the world of gastronomy through fun, chocolate-based recipes. Guided by healthcare professionals, dietitians, and educators, the young chefs experienced a hands-on, playful moment that fostered well-being, independence, and connection.
The goal? To offer children a joyful break from their hospital routine, spark curiosity, encourage social interaction with caregivers and peers — and maybe even inspire future culinary dreams.
This initiative is part of a broader commitment by HUDERF to integrate non-pharmacological approaches into care — supporting stress and pain management, and improving overall quality of life for hospitalized children.
